Overview of the PCP reports

PCP gathers various statistics as it processes the database or image copy data set.

At the end of execution, it can save these statistics in the PDX data set, write them to print data set(s), and/or write them to the PCPSTATS data set. The following sections provide an overview of the reports PCP can produce and discuss the PDX, SYSPRINT, and PCPSTATS data sets.

The statistics PCP obtains by examining the bit map reflect the actual bit map values. PCP cannot determine whether these values have been altered through the use the LOADPLUS UCBITMAP option or the DATA PACKER/IMS Free Space Segment Size (FSS) feature; therefore, most of the discussions in this chapter do not mention that the use of these options can change the bit map value or maximum segment length.
