Data Set Group Summary Report/Partition Summary report


The Data Set Group Summary report (see the following figure) provides information about the data set groups defined for the database.

If the database is partitioned, a Partition Summary report (not shown) is produced for each partition and the report title is changed.

DBD NAME

The DBD name of the database.

DDNAME OF DATA SET

The ddname for the data set as found in the DBD.

DSNAME OF DATA SET

The actual database data set name as found in the execution-time JCL.

PARTITION NUMBER

(Partitioned databases only.) The partition number. Valid values are 1 to 32.

DS GROUP NUMBER

The number of the data set group being examined, and the total number of data set groups.

ACCESS METHOD USED

The access method of the data set (KSDS, ESDS, or OSAM).

BLOCK SIZE

The data set block or CI size.

RECORD SIZE

The data set record size.

DATA BASE DATA SET CREATION DATE

The date and time when this data set was created. This field is present for VSAM data sets only.

DBU/SS USED TO READ DATA SET

Whether the Database Utilities Subsystem (DBUSS) was actually used for fast database data set access. If the data set is not compatible with DBUSS access, the value in this field is NO.
