Executing as a stand-alone utility


In certain situations, you might want to run PCP as a stand-alone utility.

In stand-alone mode, you can use either the Hash Checking technique or the Full Checking technique. This topic discusses executing the Hash Checking technique.

If you need to execute PCP as a stand-alone utility and use the database data set(s) as input, BMC Software strongly recommends that you use the Database Utilities Subsystem (DBUSS) for fast I/O processing. The DBUSS significantly enhances the performance of PCP. For more information about the DBUSS, refer to the BMC Products for IMS Installation Guide.
