Generating JCL with the ISPF interface

You can use the ISPF interface to generate the JCL for executing PCP as a stand-alone utility.

The following general procedure outlines the steps in the process:

  1. Access the BMC Software IMS DBU Product Selection Menu panel.
  2. Type s next to Data Integrity Products.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Select option 1 to access the PCP primary menu.
  5. On the PCP primary menu, type or verify the IMSID, the name of the DBD library, and the name of the library that contains the global options modules, typically the BMC Software load library.
  6. Select option 4. PCP displays the DBD Name Selection List panel. Type or verify the data set names of the input libraries and select the input DBD(s).
  7. Press Enter. PCP displays the first page of the Processing Options panel.
  8. Verify or type over the option values shown. Press Enter to display the next page of the Processing Options panel. When you press Enter on the last page, PCP displays the DBD Name Exclusion panel. Select the DBD(s) to exclude from the generated JCL, if necessary.
  9. Press Enter. PCP invokes the BMC Software Job Submission Facility panels. Provide the requested information, and then edit, submit, or save the generated JCL.

Note

The JCL generation process includes the optional PLUSLIST DD statement. If you do not want to use this statement, or if you want to include or change other statements, you can edit the generated JCL before you submit it, or you can edit the JCL skeleton (member PCPSJCL0 of the BMC.DBU.SLIB data set) to change the JCL that is generated for all users at your site.
