System requirements
This topic defines the requirements for using PCP.

Hardware | PCP operates on any processor that supports any IBM-supported version of MVS. The hardware requirements are the same as those required by the IBM IMS/VS DB Feature. BMC Software licenses PCP to run on specific CPUs. |
Operating system | PCP is supported for use under any IBM-supported version of MVS. |
IMS | Your installation must have a licensed copy of the IMS/VS DB Feature or IMS/ESA Database Manager. PCP supports the all IBM-supported versions of IMS. and will support new versions of IMS as they become available from IBM. |
ISPF | IBM Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF), Version 2.2 or later, is required for the PCP ISPF interface. The use of the ISPF interface is optional but recommended. |
Sort | PCP requires a sort program compatible with IBM’s DFSORT product. Certain optional features of PCP require particular levels of the major sort products, as shown in the following table Sort product version requirements. |
