DBD


PCP requires the DBD name associated with the database or image copy you want to validate. Use the DBD option on the CHECK (or CHECKALL) control statement to provide the name of the DBD.

If PCP is executing under another utility, the CHECK control statement is optional since PCP gets the DBD name from the other utility. The CHECK control statement is required if PCP is executing as a stand-alone utility. In either case, the DBD option is required on the CHECK control statement. If you use the ISPF interface to generate the JCL, you select the DBD name from a list of DBDs in the DBD library.

Note

To perform a complete verification of a shared secondary index, you must provide a CHECK command for every shared index database.

  • Generated JCL (from selection list)
  • CHECK control statement

ISPF panel field

PCPSYSIN keyword

Specify the DBD name (1-8 characters) of the database or image copy you want to validate.
