Using the Message Advisor Event Logger

This section describes the Message Advisor Event Logger (Event Logger) and how to enable and use it.

The Event Logger is a feature that logs:

  • QPF actions
  • QPF Phase changes
  • IMS commands issued by QPF

Event Logger allows you to keep track of the QPF feature activity of the Message Advisor over a period of time. For example, it will provide you historical analysis of the times that QPF actions were invoked to provide relief to the IMS Message Queues and extend the availability of the IMS subsystem.

It can also provide an audit trail of the QPF activity if you ever need to check the history to see what happened, and help you decide on any QPF option changes you may need to help protect the IMS Message queues from an overflow.
