REQ Prompt or CHKPT Prompt keyword

REQ_PRompt is an optional keyword for the REQueue command and indicates whether Message Advisor issues a write-to-operator with reply (WTOR) prompt when it executes a REQueue TYPE=COLD. The WTOR indicates the checkpoint that Message Advisor will use for the requeue.

You can use CHKPT_PRompt as an alias for REQ_PRompt.

Note

The REQ_PRompt keyword value for the REQueue command overrides the REQ_PRompt keyword value for the SERVER_Options subcommand on the CUStomize command set.

Parameter

Description

Yes

When Message Advisor executes a REQueue TYPE=COLD, it issues a WTOR prompt that indicates the checkpoint to be used for the requeue

Note

BMC Software recommends that you specify Yes if you use the AUTO_REQ, AUTO_REQ_COLDCOM, or AUTO_REQ_COLDSYS options for the IMS_Options subcommand on the CUSTOMIZE command set.

  • If you specify REQ_PRompt=YES, you must respond with Y or N to message BMC43790I before Message Advisor will process any checkpoints.
  • If the message BMC43790I is not answered, Message Advisor will reissue this message three times.
  • If this message is still left unanswered, Message Advisor will assume an answer Y to the message, continue with the AUTO_REQUEUE command, and issue the new message BMC43792I.

No

Message Advisor does not issue a WTOR prompt when it executes a REQueue TYPE=COLD
