Initial IMS/VS Format Feature

The initial format can include one or all of the following:

  • an IMS signon format
  • the LOCAL COPY PLUS News Facility
  • an application format
  • An IMS signon format

This takes the place of the IMS DFS2002 CONNECTED TO IMS/VS iiii message. If your installation requires signon to IMS, LOCAL COPY PLUS can provide the signon format automatically, without a /SIGN command.

A second format, taking the place of the IMS DFS058 SIGN COMMAND COMPLETED can also be specified. This second format can be either the LOCAL COPY PLUS News Facility, and/or an application format.

If signon is not required by your installation, the LOCAL COPY PLUS News Facility and/or an application format can take the place of the DFS2002 message.

LOCAL COPY PLUS Initial IMS/VS Format Arrangements describes some possible Initial IMS Format arrangements provided by LOCAL COPY PLUS. As you examine this figure, remember that each of theses formats can be specified on a group or individual basis, depending upon how you choose to customize LOCAL COPY PLUS.

    Note

The LOCAL COPY PLUS IMS/VS signon format is the default DFS3649A format.

For instance, your LOCAL COPY PLUS System Administrator may specify that the IMS signon format be presented for all your IMS end users, but the groups and individuals can decide whether or not they want to access the LOCAL COPY PLUS News Facility after signon. Or, a standard IMS application format menu can be specified by the LOCAL COPY PLUS System Administrator on a group or individual basis.
