AOI general information

The following general information applies to all AOI methods:

  • The PLEXNAME method uses type 2 commands. If you are using the PLEXNAME method, the AOI provides an audit trail of IMS commands. It issues a series of BMC8300I message to report the status of the database before the type 2 command UPD is issued, the command that was issued, and the status of the database after the UPD command to start the database.
  • If the command to start the database fails for a job step that is using the AOI, the job step terminates with return code 4.
