ICUNIT keyword


Use the ICUNIT keyword to specify the device unit name to use when dynamically allocating each output image copy data set.

You can also use this keyword to specify the number of physical units to allocate.

When you use this keyword to allocate stacked image copies (see STKIC), the unit name must be a class that refers to tape devices.

Optional in global and database-specific options modules. Optional on the following control statements:

  • GLBL
  • GROUP
  • IC and AIC
  • OIC and AOIC
  • CIC and ACIC
  • IIC and AIIC
  • REC and AREC

ICUNIT(value)

Values

Specify one of the following values:

  • unitname —Specify the unit name (1-8 alphanumeric characters).
  • unitname,count —Specify the unit name (1-8 alphanumeric characters) and the number (1-59) of devices to allocate. For a tape device type, the utility automatically limits the count to 2.
