ICDSGAJ keyword

Use the ICDSGAJ keyword to control the suffix for constructing the output image copy data set name if the input database data set is a High Availability Large Database (HALDB) partition that has participated in an IMS online reorganization (OLR).

This keyword is ignored in an IMS 8.1 or earlier environment.

When a HALDB has been through OLR, the following data set groups may be active:

  • the A-J and X set
  • the M-V and Y set
  • both sets (A-J, M-V, X, and Y) because the OLR has been terminated

Both sets are considered as one logical partition.

The BMC Image Copy and Recovery utilities automatically determine which data set group was active at the specified or implicit timestamp of the backup or recovery. They use the appropriate data set group during utility execution.

When the utility is dynamically allocating an output image copy data set and is constructing the data set name by using the ICPREF keyword, the utility must determine which data set name suffix to use for an OLR pair. You can use the ICDSGAJ keyword to control the suffix as follows:

  • If you use the default ICDSGAJ(Y), the utility always uses the A-J and X set of suffixes, even if the M-V and Y data set group is active at the time of the image copy. For example, if the image copy is for data set M, the suffix for the image copy data set name is A. In effect, the image copy data set names are always the same, regardless of the OLR status of the database data set.
  • You can specify ICDSGAJ(N) if you want the utility to use the suffix for the actual data set that was active at the time of the image copy.

Uses

Optional in global and database-specific options modules. Optional on the following control statements:

  • GLBL
  • GROUP
  • IC and AIC
  • OIC and AOIC
  • IIC and AIIC

Values

Specify one of the following values:

  • Y—Always use the A-J and X set of suffixes, even if the M-V and Y data set group is active at the time of the image copy.
  • N—Use the set of suffixes (A-J and X or M-V and Y) for the data set group that was actually active at the times of the image copy.
