Processing for the DBR or DBD Command

For online and read-only reorganizations, BMC Database Director for IMS issues /DBR commands for each database that is reorganized or rebuilt.

If a command fails, Database Director issues /STA commands for any previously successful /DBR commands and also issues the following message:

NSO3000E /DBR command(s) failed. Reply 'RETRY' or 'CANCEL'

Database Director validates that there are no MVS jobs or TSO users that have the database data sets allocated. If any are found, Database Director restarts the online databases and issues the following message:

NSO3000E DATASET_ALLOCATE command(s) failed. Reply 'RETRY' or 'CANCEL'

If you have BMC Mission Control for IMS, Database Director can also perform conditional processing based on the results of the /DBR commands. For information about setting thresholds to automate Database Director processing, see the appendix on using Database Director with Mission Control.
