CLONE Command
Using the CLONE command you can clone both offline and online database with full pointer integrity.
- Syntax The CLONE command has the following syntax:
- CLONE-Command-Keywords You can only specify the CLONE command once in a job. If you want to clone more than one database, DB group, or Change Accum group, you must run more than one job.
- AREA Use this keyword to specify the Fast Path area that you want to clone. You must specify a Fast Path database with the DBD keyword for this keyword to succeed.
- BMCUNLOADEXIT Use this keyword to specify that a BMC Unload Plus user exit is to be used during clone processing. The user exit is formatted as FABHFSU.
- CAGROUP Use this keyword to specify the Change Accum database group that contains the databases that will be cloned.
- DATASETNAMEMASK-FDR-Copies Use this keyword to specify the input name mask and output name mask for the cloned datasets. BMC Database Director for IMS uses more than one method to create copies.
- Details-About-the-Output-Name-Mask-for-FDR The following table shows some examples of output name masks for FDR. In the examples, the input dataset name is IMS.TST.REG1.
- DATASETNAMEMASKn-DFSMSdss-Copies Use this keyword to specify the input name mask and output name mask for the cloned datasets. BMC Database Director for IMS uses more than one method to create copies.
- Guidelines-for-Input-and-Output-Name-Masks-for-DFSMSdss In both masks:
- Details-about-the-Input-Name-Mask-for-DFSMSdss This parameter defines a mask name of the input dataset names. The CLONE process may copy multiple datasets. Using an input name mask is easier than specifying individual from-and-to dataset names for each dataset.
- Details-about-the-Output-Name-Mask-for-DFSMSdss The table shows examples for all of the valid combinations that can be used for output name masks.
- DBD Use this keyword to specify the database that will be cloned. You must specify either a DBD name, DBD group, or Change Accum group with the CLONE command.
- DBGROUP Use this keyword to specify the DBRC database group that contains the databases that will be cloned.
- DBRC Use this keyword to specify whether the Auto-Enable utility updates DBRC. If you specify IMS, Auto-Enable will use the value of the DBRC parameter in the IMS SYSGEN to determine whether to update DBRC.
- DELETEDB Use this keyword to delete the clone of the database when you use the CLONE command to create an unload file or an image copy in a single job step.
- HSSRUNLOADEXIT Use this keyword to specify that an HSSR FABHFSU unload user exit is to be used during clone processing.
- HSSR2UNLOADEXIT Use this keyword to specify that an HSSR2 FABHURG1 unload user exit is to be used during clone processing.
- ICCOPIES Use this keyword to specify the number of image copies the Auto-Enable utility will make if you specify the IMAGECOPY keyword.
- ICDC Use this keyword to specify the SMS data class for the image copy datasets. The keyword is ignored if the IMAGECOPY keyword is not specified.
- ICEXPDT Use this keyword to specify the expiration date for the image copy dataset. The keyword is ignored if the IMAGECOPY keyword is not specified.
- ICGDG Use this keyword to specify whether the pattern dataset name for the image copy represents a Generation Data Group (GDG). The keyword is ignored if you do not specify the IMAGECOPY keyword.
- ICIDX If non-recoverable (NONRECOV) and no image copy required (NOICREQ) is specified in DBRC for the HIDAM database, use this keyword to specify that BMC Database Director for IMS creates an image copy of the primary index.
- ICMASK Use this keyword to specify the pattern name for the image copy dataset. Enter a pattern name that represents the name as it would appear in a JCL DSN= statement. The keyword is ignored if you do not specify the IMAGECOPY keyword.
- ICMC Use this keyword to specify the SMS management class for the image copy datasets. The keyword is ignored if the IMAGECOPY keyword is not specified.
- ICREFDD Use this keyword to specify the reference DD that contains the override values that you want BMC iCopy for IMS to use for the output image copy. The keyword is ignored if the IMAGECOPY keyword is not specified.
- ICRETPD Use this keyword to specify the retention period for an image copy dataset. After the retention period, the dataset can be deleted or written over by another dataset. The keyword is ignored if the IMAGECOPY keyword is not specified.
- ICSTACK Use this keyword to specify whether the image copy process produces stacked datasets. The keyword is ignored if you do not specify the IMAGECOPY keyword.
- ICSC Use this keyword to specify the SMS storage class for the image copy dataset. You can use this keyword to override the default SMS storage class for your system. The keyword is ignored if you do not specify the IMAGECOPY keyword.
- ICUNIT Use this keyword to specify the allocation unit type for the image copy dataset. The keyword is ignored if the IMAGECOPY keyword is not specified.
- IMAGECOPY Use this keyword to specify whether the Auto-Enable utility creates an image copy of the cloned database. The image copy occurs after Auto-Enable loads the database.
- MANAGEMENTCLASS Use this keyword to specify the SMS management class to assign to the new output dataset.
- PL1 Use this keyword to specify that a user exit is coded using PL1.
- RECONMASK When you specify the UNLOAD keyword when you are using the CLONE command, use this keyword to specify the dataset name pattern for the temporary DBRC Recovery Control datasets (RECON1, RECON2, and RECON3).
- RECONSC-CLONE-Command When you specify the UNLOAD keyword when you are using the CLONE command, use this keyword to specify the SMS storage class that BMC Database Director for IMS uses to allocate the temporary DBRC Recovery Control datasets (RECON1, RECON2, and RECON3).
- RECONVOLUME When you specify the UNLOAD keyword when you are using the CLONE command, use this keyword to specify the volume serial number that BMC Database Director for IMS uses to allocate the temporary DBRC Recovery Control datasets (RECON1, RECON2, and RECON3).
- RELATED Use this keyword to specify whether the Auto-Enable utility processes logically related database datasets. This keywords supersedes the Reorganize Log. Related DB's customizable parameter.
- STORAGECLASS Use this keyword to specify the SMS storage class to assign to the new output dataset.
- TIMEOUT Use this keyword to specify the amount of time, in seconds, that BMC Database Director for IMS will wait for these types of commands to complete:
- ULMASK Use this keyword to specify the pattern dataset name for the unload datasets for the cloned database.
- ULUNIT Use this keyword to specify the esoteric unit assigned to this dataset.
- UNLOAD Use this keyword to create an unload file when the database is cloned. The unload file is created in a single job step.
