Starting the BISS as a Batch Job Using the Interface
Use the following procedure to start the BMC IMS Software Server (BISS) as a batch job.
- Access the Database Director Management Interface.For information about accessing the Database Director Management Interface, see the topic on accessing the Database Director Management Interface in this guide.
- Select 1 (DBD) on the menu and press Enter.
- On the DBD Member Name Mask pop-up, press Enter.BMC Database Director for IMS displays a message indicating that it is building the list of databases and then displays the Database Director Database List panel.
- Either:
- Type J in the select field for any database and press Enter.
- Type J dbname on the command line and press Enter.
- On the JCL Generation pop-up, select 1 and press Enter.
- On the Batch BMC Server Parameters pop-up specify the name of the BISS and press Enter.Database Director generates and displays the JCL in the ISPF Editor.
- Verify that the job card contains the LPAR where you need to run the BISS.
- Submit the JCL.Database Director submits the job and starts the BISS.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
