Specifying selection criteria and process
To specify the selection criteria for the entry you want to process, select the type of process: add, change, display, delete, or list. If you select display or delete, indicate the record level. If you select add, change, display, or list, indicate if you want to process compression and output options.
Selecting option 1 (DPICDS Administration) on the Primary Menu (Using-the-DATA-PACKER-IMS-Primary-Menu) displays the DPICDS Administration panel shown in Figure 1.

Command ===> _________________________________________________________________- Specify the selection criteria for the process you want to perform. You can select system, database, or segment registration entries for any of the processes. For the delete process, you can specify the name of a Shared Table or Custom Hardware Dictionary.
System entries
To perform functions for system entries, specify an asterisk (*) from a global entry or a name for a specific IMSID. You can also specify an asterisk (*) for Database and Segment.
Database entries
To perform functions for database entries, specify an asterisk (*) for both IMSID and Segment; specify a valid name for Database.
Segment entries
To perform functions for segment entries, specify an asterisk (*) for both IMSID; specify a valid name for Database and Segment.
Shared Table entries
To delete a Shared Table entry, specify the name of an existing Shared Table. The table you specify must have been built through the Trial utility.
If you want to add or change registration entries to include Shared Table as the compression technique for a segment, specify the selection criteria for the segment registration entry and specify Y for compression options.
Custom Hardware Dictionary entries
To delete a Custom Hardware Dictionary entry, specify the name of an existing Custom Hardware Dictionary. The dictionary you specify must have been built through the Trial utility.
If you want to add or change registration entries to include Custom Hardware Dictionary as the compression technique for a segment, specify the selection criteria for the segment registration entry and specify Y for compression options.
- Type the number to indicate the process you want to perform:
- 1 (Add)
- 2 (Change)
- 3 (Display)
- 4 (Delete)
- 5 (List)
- If you select 3 (Display), you must type one of the following numbers to indicate the record level.
- 1 (Stage)
- 2 (Run)
- 3 (Archive)
- If you select 4 (Delete), you must type one of the following numbers to indicate the record level.
- 1 (Stage)
- 2 (All)
If you select 1 (Add), 2 (Change), 3 (Display), or 5 (List) you must indicate the Option Type. Indicate whether you want to process compression options and whether you want to process output options.
- When you press Enter, the panel displayed depends upon the selection criteria specified and the process selected:
- If you select 1 (Add) or 2 (Change) and specify Y for compression or output options, the tasks you must perform are described in Adding-and-changing-entries.
- If you select 3 (Display) and specify Y for compression or output options, the tasks you must perform are described in Displaying-entries.
- If you select 4 (Delete), the tasks you must perform are described in Deleting-entries.
- If you select 5 (List), the tasks you must perform are described in Listing-entries.
