Selecting entries to process

You can select system, database, and segment registration records to process. For the entries selected, you can add, change, display, delete or list the entries. The selection criteria that you can specify for the IMS ID, database and segment depends on the process you want to perform.

If you want to add, change, or display an entry, you must specify a specific system, database, or segment entry. You must specify an asterisk or a valid name for IMS ID, database and segment. For a detailed explanation of registration entries and registration record keys, see Creating-records-in-the-DPICDS.

If you want to delete or list a registration entry, you can specify a specific system, database, or segment entry. You can also select all records in the DPICDS or all databases within a system or all segment records in a specific database. You can use a blank or a portion of a name suffixed with an asterisk to specify IMS ID, database, or segment. If you enter a portion of a name suffixed with an asterisk, all names beginning with the characters specified are included. If you enter a blank, all names are included.

You can also delete a specific Shared Table or Custom Hardware Dictionary by specifying the Shared Table or Custom Hardware Dictionary name.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
