Deleting Shared Tables


To confirm the request to delete the Shared Table, complete the following steps:

  1. Selecting option 4 (Delete) and specifying a Shared Table name for the selection criteria displays the Shared Table Record DELETE Confirmation panel shown in Figure 1.

  2. Review the data to be deleted and select an option to confirm or cancel the delete request. Type 1 to delete the entries or 2 to cancel the request.The Shared Table records and all registration and statistics records corresponding to the table are listed. Only the Shared Table records are deleted. The registration and statistics records are updated to reflect the Static Huffman technique

    Warning

    Before you delete the Shared Table, be sure you do not need the table to expand any data. If you have compressed data using the Shared Table, the data cannot be expanded after you delete the table.

  3. If you type 1 and then press Enter to process the request, this panel is displayed again. In the Delete/Update Result field, Deleted is displayed for every table record deleted and Updated is displayed for every registration record updated. Press F3 to return to the DPICDS Administration panel (see Specifying-selection-criteria-and-process). If you type 2 and press Enter, you are returned to the DPICDS Administration panel.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
