Specifying statistics options
To indicate whether you want to collect statistics, complete the following steps. You can also indicate whether you want to specify output options. If you want to specify output options, indicate the options for IMS terminal, OS console, and SYSOUT information.
To indicate whether to collect statistics
The Statistics Options panel shown in Figure 1 is displayed for system, database, and segment entries when you scroll down from the Message Options panel (see Specifying-message-options). The panel is displayed for Add and Change; the function you are performing is indicated at the top of the panel.

Command ===> _________________________________________________________________- Indicate whether you want statistics collected for this entry. If no statistics options are specified for this entry, the DPICDS record at the next highest level will be used. If no statistics options are specified at some higher level, the statistics will be kept in the DPICDS.If you specify N, any values you enter for the remaining fields are ignored.
The following fields are not required and are ignored if the Collect statistics field is specified as N.For Store Statistics In DPICDS, specify whether statistics records should be stored in the DPICDS. The default is Y if the Collect statistics field is specified as Y. If you specify N, you must specify the alternate destination of the statistics by completing the remaining fields as applicable.
For IMS Terminal, you can specify both MTO and Lterm.
- Type Y or N to indicate whether you want IMS statistics routed to the MTO.
- Indicate the LTERM name to be used for statistics routing.
For OS Console, indicate the following information:
- Indicate whether you want IMS statistics routed to the WTO.
- Indicate the appropriate descriptor codes. The defaults are 4,7.
- Indicate the appropriate route codes. The defaults are 2,11. See your MVS system programmer for more information on the route and descriptor codes to be used.
- Indicate the ID of an alternate system console. The default is the system defined OS console.
For Sysout Information, specify the following:
- Indicate the output class to which the statistics information should be routed.
- Indicate whether the output should be held. If the Sysout class specified is already defined to your system as held, you cannot override the system definition by specifying N in this field.
- Indicate the ddname of the output data set.
- If output is to be routed to a JES node, indicate the name. The default is LOCAL.
- If output is to be routed to a user ID, indicate the name. The default is the TSO user ID associated with your session.
- For database and segment entries, once you have typed the data, type the SAVE command and press Enter to record the data for this entry. You are returned to the DPICDS Administration panel. See Specifying-selection-criteria-and-process).For system entries, press the SCROLL DOWN function key (usually F8). Pressing this key validates the data entered; it also displays the next panel so that you can enter the snap dump options (see Specifying-SNAP-dump-options-for-system-entries). If you do not want to display the next panel, then type the SAVE command and press Enter to record the data for this entry.
