Output image copy data set

You can create incremental image copies during a Change Accumulation utility execution by invoking the Incremental Image Copy (IIC) function.

A previous image copy and the change records of the newly created change accumulation data set are merged and then written to the new output image copy data set. Depending on business needs and resource constraints, you may want to create image copies during change accumulation processing for all, only a few, or none of the database data sets processed during the change accumulation process.

An incremental image copy cannot be produced if the Change Accumulation utility is producing a timestamp point-in-time (PIT) change accumulation; however, if the utility is producing a PIT change accumulation without a specified timestamp, it can produce an incremental image copy.

The utility can write output image copy data sets that have block sizes larger than 32 KB.

The utility can write image copy data sets in encrypted format.
