SMARTCA keyword

Use the SMARTCA keyword to enable use of the IC Triggering by CA feature.

You can use this feature to balance change accumulation (CA) and image copy (IC) processing for one or more CA groups. The feature manages the size of the CA data set for a CA group through automated IC processing of the objects in the group.

The IC Triggering by CA feature works with the BMC Image Copy utility, the BMC Change Accumulation utility, and the Advisor components in the Database Management console. It requires a license for the BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS product.

Warning

Important

The SMARTCA keyword must be used in combination with the Analyze CA Group to Trigger ICs parameter in the Database Management console and the SMARTCA keyword in the Image Copy utility. If the SMARTCA(N) keyword is specified (or used by default because the SMARTCA keyword is omitted) for the Image Copy utility or the Change Accumulation utility, or if the Analyze CA Group to Trigger ICs parameter is set to No in the console, all other IC Triggering by CA parameters are ignored and no image copies are triggered.

Specify one of the following values:

N

Disable use of the IC Triggering by CA feature. The Change Accumulation utility bypasses the all processing that is related to the feature.

Y

Enable use of the IC Triggering by CA feature.
