Performing an orderly shutdown before IPL

Use the following procedure to perform an orderly shutdown before IPL.

Warning

An orderly shutdown of the BMC Software Subsystem requires that you stop the BCSS, CAS, and BMCP. Issuing the following commands affects all of the BMC products in your system that use the BCSS that is being shut down.

  1. Issue the following command to terminate all CASs:bcssid CAS STOP ALL
  2. Issue the following command to terminate BCSS processing:bcssid SHUTDOWN
  3. Issue the following command to terminate BMCP processing:bmcpid SHUTDOWN
