Draining a CAS
You can drain one or all of the CASs.
Any jobs that are using the draining CAS continue using the CAS, but no new jobs are assigned to the draining CAS. BCSS stops draining CASs when their link count becomes zero; however, BCSS leaves one active CAS available in the system. If necessary, you can stop the last remaining CAS (see Stopping-a-CAS).
To drain a CAS
Issue one of the following commands:
- bcssid CAS DRAIN casid
The CAS that is identified by casid is drained.
bcssid CAS DRAIN ALL
All of the CASs are drained.
- Check the system log to ensure that the command has been completed successfully. If successful, BCSS responds with messages for each CAS that is draining.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
