ViaSoft Smart-Test Option
Setup of ViaSoft Smart-Test Option
To allow operation of the ViaSoft Smart-Test package, you must specify certain datasets in the setup of the test. COPE ViaSoft support consists of two components:
- A front end to the DFSRRC00 DLI access program
- A Modblks member that allows selection of PSB's and transactions that contain the original (non C-number) names.
The Lsys is identified by a token in the IMSID field of the DLI Parm. field. This token is the same as that specified for a BMP or batch program to identify an Lsys. It is the token specified in the 4.10.2 COPE application by the COPE Systems Administrator.
Smart-Test Setup
Your existing Smart-Test installation should be accessed and the following setup steps performed:
- Specify the correct IMS RESLIB for COPE
- Specify the correct IMS modblks library and suffix for COPE
- Specify the correct application load libraries
- Specify the desired COPE Logical system in the IMSID Parm field
To operate a test correctly, you should know the following:
- The name of the IMS RESLIB for COPE (ZDEFAULT parameter XCOPEIRS)
- The name of the IMS Modblks library
- The Stage 1 suffix used for the ViaSoft member (ZDEFAULT parameter XVIASUFF)
- The tokens used to identify COPE Logical Systems (4.10.2 specifications).
To perform the library specifications, place the cursor in the 'File' field of the top line of the panel shown in the following figure and press <Enter>.

Options '2' and 'P' are required by COPE. COPE will override any specifications of PSB or DBD libraries. All other specifications are left unmodified.
Using Option 2 you must specify the correct IMS RESLIB used by COPE (see the following figure). In addition, the correct Modblks dataset and the modblks member suffix must be specified for correct operation of transaction selection.

Option 'P' allows specification of the Parm fields supplied to DLI. The only one that COPE requires is the IMSID field, which must contain a name that is associated with the Lsys that you want to test against.
With COPE, the IMSID field is NOT the name of the IMS control Region. (The correct name is substituted at execution time by COPE). The field is used instead to specify the particular Lsys you want to test against.

With the exception of these specific requirements, the operation of SmartTest remains the same. Information about the use of the product can be obtained from the ViaSoft Smart-Test manuals.
