IMS Catalog Managed ACBs

COPE supports IMS Catalog Managed ACB. This requires EVARS variable XCOPECAT = YES and XCOPESDF = nnn (where nnn refers to DFSDFnnn).

Create DBD / PSB Source from IMS Catalog

Option 1.11 (Create a DBDLIB and PSBLIB from an IMS catalog) brings up the screen as shown in the following figure.

1. Fill in the ‘Catalog Name’ and ‘Catalog HLQ’ fields.
2. Place an A in the Option field.
3. Press Enter.

This will generate a job. Submit and run this job. This job will create PSB source in the hlq.PSBSOURC dataset and DBD source in the hlq.DBDSOURC. The DBDs and PSBs can then be imported into COPE.

Import Selected DBDs / PSBs from IMS Catalog

Option 2.CAT (Import PSB and DBD Definitions after a creation date) can be used to import PSB and/or DBD definitions from the IMS catalog. The following figure shows the screen brought up with Option 2.CAT.

1. Fill in the ‘Logical System’, Definition Type, Extract Members Defined After, ‘Boot Strap Dataset HLQ’ fields.
2. Press Enter.
   COPE presents the following figure.

3. Place an S next to the resources you wish to import.
4. Press PF3.
   COPE presents the following figure. The ‘Slct”n Ind’ column now shows ‘SELECTED’.

5. Press PF3.
   If PSBs were selected, COPE would present the following figure.

6. Fill in the fields as displayed in Online PSB Generation as appropriate,
7. Press Enter.
8. Submit and run the job generated.
   This job will import the selected resources and submit additional jobs that will run the corresponding DBD / PSB / ACB generations.
