TRACE ON NOTRUNC Command

For the DLI Call I/O area, only the first 254 bytes (or less) are usually traced. You can stop this "truncation" of the I/O area trace by using the following commands:

COPE NOTRUNC              (if TRACE is already on)
COPE ON NOTRUNC           (when turning TRACE on)

"NOTRUNC" can be shortened to "NOT". The overhead for NOTRUNC is high, and can impact performance, especially if it is accidentally left on for an active terminal. Use the default, TRUNC, where- ever possible, and NOTRUNC only when it is necessary to see the contents of segments or SQL output past the 254-byte truncation point. You can turn TRUNC back on, without turning TRACE off, with a "COPE TRACE TRUNC" command.

The COPE header line shows *TRACE*N*, when NOTRUNC is in effect.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
