Enabling RUV activity

Use the RUV ENABLE command to enable batch journaling or backup activity. This command allows Batch Journaling Facility and Backup-While-Open processes to start again after an RUV DISABLE or RUV QUIESCE command.

Use the following format to issue the command at the z/OS console (ssid is the subsystem identifier of the BCSS):

ssid RUV ENABLE [ALL | LOGGING | BACKUP]

One of the following keywords is required:

  • ALL
    Enable all components.
  • LOGGING
Enable logging components (the Batch Journaling Facility).
  • BACKUP
Enable backup components (the BWO feature).
