Generating JCL with the ISPF interface
You can use the ISPF interface to generate the JCL for executing
Pointer Checker
as a stand-alone utility.
The following general procedure outlines the steps in the process:
- Access the BMC Software IMS DBU Product Selection Menu panel.
- Type s next to Data Integrity Products.
- Press Enter.
- Select option 1 to access the Pointer Checker primary menu.
- On the Pointer Checker primary menu, type or verify the IMSID, the name of the DBD library, and the name of the library that contains the global options modules, typically the BMC Software load library.
- Select option 4. Pointer Checker displays the DBD Name Selection List panel. Type or verify the data set names of the input libraries and select the input DBD(s).
- Press Enter. Pointer Checker displays the first page of the Processing Options panel.
- Verify or type over the option values shown. Press Enter to display the next page of the Processing Options panel. When you press Enter on the last page, Pointer Checker displays the DBD Name Exclusion panel. Select the DBD(s) to exclude from the generated JCL, if necessary.
- Press Enter. Pointer Checker invokes the BMC Software Job Submission Facility panels. Provide the requested information, and then edit, submit, or save the generated JCL.
