Supporting logical relationships

Partitioned databases support logical relationships — between databases and within the same database. There are several restrictions however:

  • Logical parents must use symbolic pointers.
  • Logical children must be physically paired.
  • Logical parent, logical child, and logical twin pointer RBAs in segment prefix pointers must include the partition number.
