HDAM Root Placement Relative to Its Home Block report


The HDAM Root Placement Relative to Its Home Block report shows the distribution of HDAM roots relative to their home block (the home block is the block the root segment should be placed in, based on the randomizing routine).

The Unload function generates this report when you specify REPORTS(ROOTDIST(-nn+mm)). The number of lines in this report are a function of the values specified in the ROOTDIST subkeyword. For more information, see REORGMSG.

The Reload function generates this report when you use the Reload function HDAM space search algorithm and the database being loaded is an HDAM database. The report varies in size, based on the value you specified for the single limit value for the flip-flop scan or the forward and backward limits when you use the bidirected scan. When the database uses the IMS/ESA Partition Support Product, one report is generated for each partition. The HDAM Root Placement Statistics report provides the following information:

Description

LOCATION

Location relative to the home block where HDAM roots should be placed based on the randomizing routine. Any roots found in the overflow area are also reported.

PCT

The percentage of roots placed in the associated relative block.

QUANTITY

The number of roots placed in the associated relative block.
