Overview of the Deadlock report

You can use the Deadlock report for the following purposes:

  • Identify logical units of work (LUOWs) that were involved in a deadlock.
  • Analyze specific deadlocks to determine causes and effects.
  • Analyze the general frequency and severity of deadlocks in an environment.

Log Analyzerproduces the Deadlock report and writes it to the DEADLOCK data set when you specify the DEADLOCK keyword on the REPORTS control statement. For more information, see DEADLOCK-keyword.
