Using the INTERVAL Control Statement panel to build the INTERVAL control statement


To build keywords and values on the INTERVAL control statement, use the INTERVAL Control Statement panel.

You can use the INTERVAL statement for the following purposes:

  • Specify the beginning and end of a range of log records to identify as candidates for the record selection process
  • Control the range of log data sets to allocate dynamically from RECON information
  • Reduce the overall number of log records that are selected from input SLDS or extract files

To access and work with the INTERVAL Control Statement panel

  1. Access the Build JCL panel.For instructions, see Using-the-JCL-menu-to-access-JCL-functions.
  2. In the Control Statements field to the left of the INTERVAL label, enter S.The INTERVAL Control Statement panel is displayed below:

  3. In the Start type field, enter the value that will be used to generate the START keyword on the INTERVAL control statement.This keyword identifies the beginning of a range of log records to be considered as candidates for the record selection process.   4. In the Stop type field, enter the value that will be used to generate the STOP keyword on the INTERVAL control statement.This keyword identifies the end of a range of log records to be considered as candidates for the record selection process. For more information, see STOP-keyword-for-the-INTERVAL-control-statement.
