XCF group MAXMEMBER considerations
The product uses the MAXMEMBER parameter when you are using a data sharing environment with your IMS systems and the cross-system coupling facility (XCF) component of z/OS.
BMC AMI Fast Path Online Restructure for IMS creates one member for each of the following items:
- The database being restructured
- Each IMS control region in the data sharing environment
- The restructure job
- Each IFP that is used during the restructure (the maximum number is set using the IFP_LIMIT keyword, where the default value is 4)
To view the current value of the MAXMEMBER parameter, issue the /D XCF,COUPLE command, and then look for MAXMEMBER. If necessary, increase the value of the MAXMEMBER parameter. For example, if the job uses 4 IFP regions (default) to restructure a database in a 5 way IMS data sharing environment, the minimum value of MAXMEMBER must be 11.
If the value of the MAXMEMBER parameter is inadequate, BMC AMI Fast Path Online Restructure for IMS might issue the message BMC115102C.
