How do I migrate from ETA 3.7 to ETA 3.8 ?
You can use the following procedure as a guideline on what is required in order to migrate from ETA3.7 to ETA 3.8:
- Using the latest Installation System installer, create a new SMP/E target and distributed library environment that contains the latest ETA3.8 FMID and associated maintenance. For more information, see Installing.
- Copy the ETA 3.8 SMP/E target library (or the OZI runtime library) to your TEST IMS Control Region BMC ETA Load Library (STEPLIB DD) and BMCXLINK STEPLIB DD.
- Copy the ETA3.8 SMP/E target libraries (ETALIB/ETAPLIB/ETAMLIB/ETATLIB) to your ISPF CLIST runtime libraries.
- Ensure that the ETA BMCXLINK task is using the same ETA 3.8 runtime load library, as used in the step 2 above, in XLINK TASK STEPLIB DD.
- Reassemble or link any customized ETA Logon, Logoff, Autosignon, Signon , Signoff Exits, and so on, and make sure that they are linked in the same IMS Control Region STEPLIB DD Runtime (from step 2 above).
- Restart the TEST IMS Control region, the BMCXLINK, and the ISPF Interface.
