Mapping an ACB


The following list summarizes the process of mapping an ACB. The panels Database Integrity displays depend on the type of ACB (PSB or DBD) selected.

  1. On the BMC Software IMS Full Function Database Products Menu, select option 12. Database Integrity displays the Database Integrity primary menu.
  2. Select option 3. Database Integrity displays the ACB Options panel.
  3. Select option 2. Database Integrity displays the Library Specification panel.
  4. Type an ACB name (optional). Type or verify the ACB library name. Database Integrity takes the following action:
    • Displays the PSB Map Summary panel if you provided a PSB-type ACB name.
    • Displays the DBD Map panel if you provided a DBD-type ACB.
    • Displays the Directory panel if you did not provide an ACB name. Select an ACB from the list. Database Integrity takes the following action:
      • Displays the PSB Map Summary panel if you selected a PSB-type ACB
      • Displays the DBD Map panel if you selected a DBD-type ACB
  5. If you provided a PSB-type ACB, take one of the following actions:
    • Place the cursor on a DBD name; press F2. Database Integrity displays the DBD Map panel.
    • Leave the cursor on the Command line; press F2. Database Integrity displays the Database PSB Map panel.
    • Place the cursor on a PCB name; press F2. Database Integrity displays the Database PSB Map panel for the selected PCB.
  6. View the information. You can use the function keys to access related functions. Database Integrity performs the related function as requested.
