Using patterns to specify member names

The keywords (and some ISPF panel fields) that tell Database Integrity which control block(s) to select for processing allow you to code the literal member name or a pattern to match. This section discusses how to use patterns to specify member names.

Important

The value of the LOxxx keywords can be a full member name, a partial member name, or a pattern. Full and partial names do not include any wildcard characters; they specify a starting point in a list of members. A pattern includes one or more wildcard characters. It specifies that you want to select only the members that match the pattern. Although the LOxxx keyword usually specifies a starting point, when you use a pattern the selection is limited; members that do not match the pattern but exceed the pattern are not selected.

The value of the HIxxx keywords can be full and partial member names only; patterns are not valid.
