Profile Options panel
Selecting option 6 on the
Data Packer
Primary Menu displays the DP/IMS Profile Options panel shown in the following figure.
Select an option. Then press Enter.

To customize your ISPF panels
- Type the number corresponding to one of the following options and press Enter.
- Select 1 (Command Line Placement) to determine where the Command line is placed on the panel.
- Select 2 (PF Keys Show) to indicate whether the function keys are to be displayed.
- Select 3 (Alarm Sound) to specify whether the alarm sounds when an error is made.
- Select 4 (Entry Field Delimiter) to indicate whether field lengths are displayed.
- Select 5 (Pad Character) to indicate whether fields are padded after data entry.
- Select 6 (Change Color) to specify panel color changes.
If you select option 1, the Command Line Placement popup window shown in following figure is displayed.

Command ===> ______________________________________________________________By default, the Command line is placed at the bottom of the panel as shown in above figure. You can, however, move the Command line to the top of the panel below the panel’s title.
- Select 1 (Asis) to display the Command line at the top of the panel.
- Select 2 (Bottom) to move the Command line to the bottom of the panel.
Selecting option 2 displays the PF Keys Show pop-up window shown in following figure.

- Select 1 (On) to display the function keys as specified by the ISPF command PFSHOW TAILOR.
- Select 2 (Off) to turn off the function key display.
If you select option 3, the Alarm Sound pop-up window shown in following figure is displayed.

- Select 1 (On) to sound an alarm when an error is made.
- Select 2 (Off) for no alarm to sound.
Selecting option 4 produces the Entry Field Delimiter pop-up window shown in following figure.

F19=UP F20=DOWN F21=SWAP F22=LEFT F23=RIGHT F24=RETRIEVEThe Entry Field Delimiter option permits you to view the specified length of each field on the panel so that as data is entered you can determine the remaining space available. Field lengths can be displayed in any one of the following ways:
- Select 1 (Underscore) to display the field length as a solid line.
- Select 2 (Blink) to display the field length as a blinking area.
- Select 3 (Reverse Video) to produce the field length as a reverse image.
- Select 4 (None) if you do not want to display the field lengths.
When you choose option 5, the pop-up window for padding characters shown in following figure is displayed.

F19=UP F20=DOWN F21=SWAP F22=LEFT F23=RIGHT F24=RETRIEVEWhen a character is padded, the remaining length of the field after data is entered is displayed as a solid line. If the entry field delimiter selected is Underscore, then the padded area of a character field becomes a double line.
- Select 1 (Underscore) to display underscores for the remaining length of the field after data is entered.
- Select 2 (None) to display blanks for the remaining length of the field after data is entered.
If you select option 6, then the pop-up window for changing colors shown in following figure is displayed.

F19=UP F20=DOWN F21=SWAP F22=LEFT F23=RIGHT F24=RETRIEVEThe seven CUA default colors are listed in the column on the left. Any color can be substituted for another as long as the specified color is on the Default Color list.
You can, for example, substitute red for pink by typing RED in the field next to Pink. You cannot, however, substitute orange for pink because orange is not a default color.
