TSS tables online


The CM VT ISPF interface enables you to allocate and maintain TSS data sets, including backup data sets. It enables you to define, edit, test, and reorganize TSS tables online. The Translate Sub-System panel is displayed after selecting option 5 on the CM VT Main Menu.

Option

Description

1. Edit

Enables you to edit an existing TSS table. This includes adding new entries and deleting or changing entries.

2. Browse

Enables you to browse an existing TSS table.

3. Test

Enables you to test a TSS table by specifying an argument and checking the function returned.

4. Search/Modify

Enables you to exclude or include records in a TSS table, making editing easier. This option also allows you to add new table entries and change or delete table entries.

5. Define

Enables you to define a new TSS table.

6. Remove

Enables you to remove a table from a TSS library.

7. Load

Enables you to load existing TSS tables.

8. Unload

Enables you to unload existing TSS tables.

9. Convert/Copy

Enables you to copy a table from one TSS data set to another.

10. Backup

Enables you to backup a TSS library by unloading all the tables in the TSS library.

11. Format

Enables you to define TSS tables in a newly defined library or to clear an existing library.

12. Reorganize

Enables you to reclaim unused space in a TSS library.

13. Refresh

Enables you to refresh existing TSS tables.

14. Status

Enables you to determine the status of the amount of space remaining in a TSS library.

Table name

Enables you to specify a table to be edited, tested, modified, or acted on by one of the table utilities. If this field is left blank, the Translate Sub-System - Table Select panel is presented for the following options:

  • 1 (Edit)
  • 2 (Browse)
  • 3 (Test)
  • 4 (Search/Modify)
  • 6 (Remove) - This option will clear this field and display the Translate Sub-System - Remove a Table panel.

    This field is ignored for the following options

    • 10 (Backup)
    • 11 (Format),
    • 12 (Reorganize)
    • 13 (Refresh)
    • 14 (Status)

TSS table data set

Specifies the data set name of the TSS data set you want to modify or test.

Disposition

Tells the CM VT ISPF interface how the table library is allocated to your CM VT session. SHR allows other users to access the table library. To exclude all other access while performing updates, specify OLD.
