Specifying Recovery utility JCL

This topic describes how to run the BMC Recovery utility with the IBM Database Recovery utility. If you have set up JCL for the IBM Database Recovery utility with the appropriate customization options specified, you can simply use your existing JCL to run the compatible BMC Recovery utility.

Using-the-Recovery-utility

You must provide a STEPLIB override to concatenate the BMC load module library. The recovery function and the default customization options supplied with the BMC Recovery utility are compatible with the IBM Database Recovery utility.

The following DD statements are required for Recovery utility jobs:

  • IMS (or PROCLIB in case of mACB environment)
  • STEPLIB
  • SYSPRINT

The other DD statements are optional but are sometimes required.
