Deleting and redefining VSAM OSAM data sets
When performing a recovery, you can delete and redefine a VSAM data set and delete and allocate an OSAM data set. Use the IDCAMS keyword to invoke IDCAMS directly, without running a separate job step.
Unlike the IMS recovery utility, the BMC Recovery utility can recover to a non-empty VSAM data set that was defined with the REUSE attribute. Rebuilding secondary indexes does, however, require that VSAM data sets be empty.
