Description

Population method

Type one of the following values to select the method for populating the group. When you press Enter after typing any value except 8, the Subset of Objects panel is displayed with the list of objects that match your selection criteria. When you press Enter after typing value 8, the Group Population by Subsystem panel is displayed to request more information.

  • 1
Select objects that belong to the DBDs that match the DBD name in the Name field.
  • 2
Select objects that are identified by PCBs in the PSBs that match the PSB name in the Name field.
  • 3
Select objects that belong to the DBRC change accumulation group (or groups) that match the name in the Name field. When you press Enter, the objects that belong to the change accumulation group, not the names of change accumulation groups, are selected.
  • 4
Select objects that belong to the DBRC database data set group (or groups) that match the name in the Name field. When you press Enter, the objects that belong to the database data set group, not the names of database data set groups, are selected.
  • 5
Select objects that match the data set name in the Name field.
  • 6
Select objects that reside on the volume with the volume serial (VOLSER) in the Name field and their associated objects. Associated objects include overflows, overflow owners, and primary databases of indexes that are found on the volume.
  • 7
Select objects that reside on the volume with the VOLSER in the Name field. Do not include their associated objects.
  • 8
Select objects that have been updated by the IMS subsystem with the subsystem name in the Name field. This selection creates an ad hoc group that cannot be repopulated with any method other than the subsystem name method.

Name

Type the specific or generic name that matches the name of the elements to select. You can use the question mark (?) and asterisk (*) masking characters to specify a generic name. For more information, see Using-pattern-masking.

Include Indexes

Type one of the following values to select whether you want to display (on the Subset of Objects panel) the indexes that are associated with the selected objects, in addition to indexes that were selected because they met the group criteria.

Important

For RMGR to identify index relationships that are created by the BMC AMI Fast Path Indexer for IMS product, MODSTAT must be defined in the IMS environment record and PFXLIBA and PFXLIBB dynamic allocation members must exist in MDALIB or RESLIB.

  • 1
Yes, display additional associated indexes in the list. This value is not available if you enter 7 or 8 in the Population method field.
  • 2
(Default) No, do not display additional associated indexes in the list.

Include Logical relationships

Type one of the following values to select whether you want to display (on the Subset of Objects panel) the objects that are logically related to the selected objects, in addition to the logically related objects that were selected because they met the group criteria.

  • 1
Yes, display additional objects that are logically related to the objects that meet the specification criteria. This value is not available if you enter 7 or 8 in the Population method field.
  • 2
