Handling a batch processing failure
- Run the Find Recovery Points function and look for an appropriate common recovery window. (If the HPC function has been performed regularly, the chances of finding a good recovery window are increased.) If you find an appropriate window, select it for the recovery. If you select a common recovery window that contains a recovery type of RVP REQ, you must use the BMC Recovery utility to perform the recovery. For more information, see Find-standard-recovery-points-with-the-ISPF-interface.
- If the Find Recovery Points function does not find an appropriate common recovery window in the RECONs, run the Log Analysis function and look for a window in which no update activity is occurring. If you find an appropriate window, select it for recovery. You must use the BMC Recovery utility to perform the recovery. For more information, see Analyze-logs-with-the-ISPF-interface or Analyze-logs-with-the-Batch-Interface-utility.
- If you find no appropriate window, use the Log Analysis function to determine the best timestamp to use for a point-in-time recovery. You must use the BMC Recovery utility to perform the recovery.
