Getting started


If you are new to BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS, use this section to learn how to protect IMS databases and ensure their integrity, availability, and rapid recovery. The product combines the capabilities of four previously separate products—the Change Accumulation utility, Image Copy utility, Recovery Manager for IMS (RMGR), and Recovery utility for IMS—into a unified solution that simplifies end-to-end backup and recovery operations.

Use this section if you are a system programmer, database administrator, or IMS operations specialist new to the environment, looking for foundational guidance before working with the components, and responsible for the following tasks:
