Description of the keywords for suspending and resuming jobs for specific databases


The table provides the descriptions and defaults for the keywords. It also indicates whether the keyword is required.

Specifies the name of the database.

Specifies the amount of time, in seconds, that you want BMC Application Director for IMS to wait before it cancels the commands used to suspend IMS BMP, IFP, DLI, and DBB jobs. Specify a number 1 - 86400.

With BATCHRESUME, the resume is issued once and does not wait for a response.

Value you specified for the ISPF Command Timeout on the Database Director Management Interface Defaults panel

(YES|NO)

Specifies whether the command contains the job name, system ID, and ASID of the requesting job. For:

  • BATCHSUSPEND, YES is required
  • BATCHRESUME, NO is required

IDENTIFY(YES) specifies that subsequent RESUME commands must specify the same qualifiers to ensure that the jobs are not resumed until all SUSPEND jobs have issued corresponding RESUME commands.

IDENTIFY(NO) specifies that unqualified SUSPEND commands are issued and the jobs can only be resumed by unqualified RESUME commands.

The BATCHSUSPEND jobstep and BATCHRESUME jobstep must be built into the same job and both commands must specify the appropriate IDENTIFY parameter and value.
