Specifying pattern data set names

When you specify a pattern data set name, you can use:

  • Literal values
  • Variable values

You specify:

  • A literal value exactly as you want it to appear in the name (for example, DATE)
  • A variable value using a 2-character variable in the format &VN

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
