NGTSSSYN data set

You can use the SmartSwitch feature in LOADPLUS to generate BMC AMI Utilities SYSIN and parameter control statements for BMC AMI Utilities. You can then use the generated SYSIN and parameters to execute a native job in BMC AMI Load for Db2 (BMC AMI Load) without using the SmartSwitch feature.

Important

BMC AMI Utilities commands and keywords generated in the SYSIN DD are separated by spaces, not wrapped.

Generating the NGTSSSYN DD

The SmartSwitch feature generates the BMC AMI Utilities control statements even if you do not specify the NGTSSSYN data set.

  • Specify //NGTSSSYN DD DUMMY if you do not want to use, save, or see NGTSSSYN.
  • If you do not specify a data set, the data is generated to SYSOUT.

Allocating the NGTSSSYN DD

You can allocate the NGTSSSYN data set to one of the following data sets:

  • A specified SYSOUT class (using the following syntax:  //NGTSSSYN DD SYSOUT=*)
  • A BSAM sequential data set
  • A partitioned data set (PDS) with a specified member name

Important

  • Allocation occurs only after a successful SmartSwitch execution.
  • The data set to which you allocate NGTSSSYN must have the DCB attributes: RECFM=FB,LRECL=80.
  • If SmartSwitch execution fails, SmartSwitch will not generate the BMC AMI Utilities control statements.
  • If the correct DCB attributes are not applied, SmartSwitch will not generate the BMC AMI Utilities control statements and will issue error message, BMC50197I.
  • Failure to generate the NGTSSSYN has no effect on the return code.
