Using the What-If Index function
Use these procedures to simulate the effects of adding, dropping, or updating statistics for an index using cloned structures by using the What-If Index function.
Save DDL for your What-If Index changes to a data set, and then import those changes on another statement to see the effects of the changes on that statement.
The procedures in this task use examples that illustrate the cumulative nature of the What-If Index process. In actual practice, after you create cloned objects on the Explain results you can perform What-If Index procedures in any order.
