Task 2: Establishing a recovery point
Use the following procedure to create log analysis JCL that you can use to establish a recovery point for a disaster recovery simulation.
If you want to recover to the end of the last archived log, you do not need to perform this task.
To establish a recovery point
- In the System Recovery Preparation and JCL Generation panel, select Option 5, Disaster recovery and press Enter.
- Select Option 1, Establish a Recovery Point and press Enter.
- On the Establish Recovery Point panel, choose the subsystem recovery point.
Specify whether you want to generate the JCL to establish the recovery point or wait until you have also set options for preparing the archive logs and subsystem recovery.
- To generate the job now, select Option 6, Establish a Recovery Point (ARMBLOG or ARMBCRC) and then press Enter.
- To generate a single job for all three disaster recovery steps, perform the following procedures:
