Volume recovery

The BMC Recovery Management for Db2 solution supports volume recovery, which is needed when a media failure destroys or corrupts data.

Volume recovery is enabled by the BMC AMI Recovery Manager and

Some content is unavailable due to permissions.

components. BMC AMI Recovery Manager identifies the objects on a specified volume and puts them into an application object set. You can then recover the object set using

Some content is unavailable due to permissions.

as you would any other application object set. The volumes do not need to be available at the time that you build the object set, so you can perform this process after media failure occurs.

You can use the BMC AMI Recovery Manager online interface or the ARMBGRP to create the volume object sets.

For more information, see the Creating volume-based object sets.
