Copy encryption

The use of encryption protects sensitive company information and prevents security failures. Recovery Management support for encryption allows you to protect image copies from unauthorized access to sensitive information. You can use Recovery Management to make full and incremental encrypted copies to disk or tape.

Recovery Management supports encryption as follows:

  • BMC AMI Copy for Db2  provides encryption functionality and creates the encrypted copies.
  • BMC AMI Recover for Db2 allows you to recover using full and incremental encrypted copies made by BMC AMI Copy.
  • BMC AMI Recovery Manager for Db2 generates JCL to create encrypted copies and to perform recoveries using encrypted copies as recovery resources.
  • BMC AMI Log Master for Db2 can read encrypted copies to obtain dictionaries for decompression or to complete partially logged updates.
